The Executive Order allowing virtual notarization is set to expire on April 18. This temporary allowance has been extremely helpful to the closing process during the shutdown. NYSAR has requested that Governor Cuomo extend the EO until such time as the prohibition against in-person contact at real estate closings is lifted.
Let’s hope Gov. Cuomo addresses this issue before the Executive Order allowing virtual notarization expires.
